1/14/2018 My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, May the Peace of the Lord be with you. I want to share with you Pope Francis’ homily given at the Midnight Mass this Christmas. “Mary “gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn” (Lk 2:7). In these plain and clear words, Luke brings us to the heart of that holy night: Mary gave birth; she gave us Jesus, the Light of the world. 1/07/2018 My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, May the Peace of the Lord be with you. Today is the Feast of the Epiphany, or what is commonly called the Feast of the Three Kings. The start of a New Year gives us an excellent opportunity to begin to live this life of trust and...

12/31/2017 My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, May the Peace of the Lord be with you. Today in celebrating the Feast of the Holy Family, we have the opportunity to look at the life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph to see what lessons we can learn and hopefully put into practice in our own families. Many times we make the mistake of thinking that because Mary and Joseph were the parents of Jesus, the Son of God, that they must have had God’s direct intervention in their everyday life’s problems. Because we see them as “special,” our tendency is to tell ourselves that it is almost impossible to...
